  • That you fulfil your legal responsibilities as the owner; inclusive of taxes, insurance and paying for fines incurred whilst owning or driving the vehicle

What should I do if I’ve lost or damaged something that came with my vehicle?

We’ll need to reduce the amount we refund you against the cost of us of replacing it. How much we reduce your refund by depends on what has gone missing or damaged. All of this we will explain and go through with you during the vehicles appraisal.

What if I haven’t received my V5C log book from the DVLA?

We unfortunately cannot sell a vehicle without a log book, your refund will only be available when this has been received, along with your vehicle. Please ensure this is posted recorded mail or bring it with you the same day you return your vehicle to D. M. Keith.

I've part exchanged a vehicle to pay for the one I’m returning; how does this affect my refund?

We’ll refund your part exchange as part of the purchase price. If works have been undertaken to prepare the part exchange for re-sale or we’ve settled any outstanding finance on the part exchange; in those circumstances, we’ll reimburse the amount allowed for the part exchange as set out on the vehicle invoice net of the amount of any finance settlement covered by D. M. Keith.

My car was delivered to my address- will this be collected back?

Yes - provided you chose our click & delivery option when purchasing, we will collect it from where we delivered. Our team will require photos to clearly show the condition to digitally appraise the vehicle, our team will be able to explain this in more detail to you when requesting a refund.

I had add-on insurance and protection products when I purchased, will these be refunded?

Yes any add-ons will also be refunded and cancelled, along with the vehicle itself.

Can I exchange the vehicle instead of getting a refund?

Absolutely – we have hundreds of vehicles across our sites and our team will be happy to help you find something else.

How long does it take to get a refund once I’ve returned a vehicle?

Providing we have all the necessary documentation including the V5C, it could take up to 5-7 working days for the funds to appear in your account, depending on who you bank with.

I bought my vehicle on finance from D. M. Keith, can I still return it?

Of course, we will contact our finance providers to ensure the finance agreement is cancelled.

Do I need to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel?

All we ask is that the tank is not empty by the time it reaches our dealership since we’ll need to run some checks before we can issue a refund. For electric cars, please make sure there’s enough charge to get to our store +10 miles.

Can I take the vehicle back to another retailer?

No, the vehicle must be returned to the D. M. Keith you originally purchased it from.
