Alex Divers, from Skoda Grimsby, wanted to help kids who struggle during school holidays when they can't get free meals like they do at school. So, Alex set a goal to raise £500 for Cash4Kids. And he came up with a bold idea: he'd shave his head at Cash4Kids' Big Breakfast Event to raise the money! The Big Breakfast Event, hosted by Cash4Kids, provided the perfect platform for Alex to showcase his commitment towards the cause. His pledge was no ordinary endeavour. It was a commitment to make a tangible difference in the lives of children facing the harsh reality of poverty, particularly during the unforgiving long school holidays.
In an area where 9,549 kids were given thoughtful presents at Christmas, the demand for assistance during lengthy school vacations remains significant. Many children experience food insecurity when school is not in session. Cash4Kids aimed to ensure that these children could continue to participate in enjoyable activities and receive nutritious meals, even during times of financial difficulty for their families.
At the event, as people watched, Alex bravely shaved off all his hair to show his support for the cause. The money raised means that at least 400 kids will get to go to activities and sports clubs during school holidays, and they'll even get a warm meal there.
